Building irritation-prone Korean skincare routine
I have a normal skin type but I tend to have sensitive skin depending on the season, environment, and stress level, which basically makes my skin irritative-prone skin for almost 365 days. However, my skin tends to act up more during this time of the year (spring), when all kinds of allergens from nature including pollens are dancing happily in the air. The trigger for me to know when my skin is starting to misbehave is the red spots around my jawlines, which later will lead to irritation and then, eventually, to inflamed red patches all over my face.
Before I share my skincare routine, let me quickly tell you that your personal skincare routines are different according to the season change. You cannot expect the same outcome in spring or summer from the same routine that you are using in winter. Just like we have to equip our fashion to protect ourselves from the weather, we also need different products to nourish and fulfill our skins’ needs accordingly. So, whatever skincare routine that I share with you for my springtime is definitely not a constant routine that I use throughout the year.
Now, since I have cleared up with the myth of a “one-size-fits-all” approach to skincare for different seasons, here is how I build my skincare routine for springtime. Since I have normal yet sensitive skin with a little bit of issue on dryness, which hugely depends on the geographical location I am in, I always make sure that my spring routine includes hydrating products with repairing skin-barrier ingredients. Before I choose products, I like to list out a few ingredients that I would be needing to treat my skin issues.

When I do slim down my skincare routines during my sensitive-skin period, I still do have an elaborate routine compared to others for sensitive skin. The reason being is that I know my skin really well and I listen to what it signals me. This is not a routine for every sensitive skin, but it’s for mine.
